BIO: Monika Kim is the author of THE EYES ARE THE BEST PART. 

Monika graduated from the University of California, Davis, with a B.A. in Communication. Since 2016, she has been working for an environmental agency based in Southern California. In her current role, Monika’s work is focused on environmental justice and assisting underserved communities through outreach and youth education programs. Monika is passionate about the environment and climate justice. Through her books, she seeks to raise awareness of the Asian American experience as well as of feminist issues. In her free time, Monika likes to try new foods, read, play video games, travel, and take pictures. 

Monika is a second-generation Korean American living in Los Angeles’s Koreatown, where she resides with her family and her tuxedo cat, Velvet. She learned about eating fish eyes and other Korean superstitions from her mother, who immigrated to California from Seoul in 1985.

Kiefer, Jenny

BIO: Jenny Kiefer is a horror author living in Louisville, Kentucky. Together with her mother, she owns and operates Butcher Cabin Books, an all-horror bookstore. She has received accolades for her creative writing from an early age, starting in the second grade when she won a class-wide story contest, beating out her other 19 classmates. Her short fiction has appeared in Cosmic Horror Monthly, Fantasy & Science Fiction, Pseudopod, and anthologies such as The Earth Bleeds at Night and forthcoming in The Rack, Volume II. Her debut novel, This Wretched Valley, received starred reviews in Library Journal and Publisher’s Weekly, and appeared in The New York Times and NPR. Her second novel, Crafting for Sinners, releases October 2025. Drake-Thomas, Jessica

BIO: Jessica Drake-Thomas is a novelist and poet. She is the author of one novel, Hollow Girls, as well as two poetry collections, Burials and Bad Omens. She holds degrees from Tulane University, Emerson College, and the University of Arizona. She lives in Milwaukee.

BIO: Sam Rebelein holds an MFA in Creative Writing from Goddard College, with a focus on Horror and Memoir. His work has appeared in Bourbon Penn, PseudoPod, Gamut, Press Pause Press, Ellen Datlow’s Best Horror of the Year, and elsewhere. Sam’s debut horror novel Edenville is out now from William Morrow. His follow-up collection of stories set in the same fictional universe, The Poorly Made and Other Things, is coming for you in early 2025.
